EXION® RF MICRONEEDLING · IRVING, TEXAS
A precision skin-remodeling treatment that pairs microneedling with radiofrequency energy to improve texture, acne scars, fine lines, pores and firmness.
SKIN, TREATED WITH INTENTION
EXION creates precise microchannels while delivering radiofrequency energy beneath the skin’s surface. The controlled response supports new collagen and elastin as the skin repairs—helping improve quality gradually, without surgery.
WHAT IT CAN ADDRESS
Soften the look of depressed scars and uneven surface texture.
Support firmer, smoother-looking skin as collagen remodels.
Refine roughness and the appearance of enlarged pores.
Improve the look of thin, lax or sun-weathered skin.
Suitability and results vary. A consultation is required to assess your skin, medical history and goals.
WHY EXION
Traditional microneedling relies on controlled needle injury alone. EXION adds monopolar radiofrequency energy and uses intelligent pulse control to help deliver consistent energy based on how the tissue responds.
YOUR APPOINTMENT
We assess your skin, discuss goals and contraindications, then apply topical numbing before treatment.
The applicator is passed systematically across the selected areas using settings chosen for your skin.
Redness, warmth, swelling or a rough texture can occur. Many patients look noticeably calmer within a few days.
Skin renewal continues over the following weeks. A series is often recommended for meaningful remodeling.
MICRONEEDLING VS. RF MICRONEEDLING
Both treatments use fine needles to trigger the skin’s repair response and support collagen remodeling. RF microneedling also delivers controlled radiofrequency heat within the skin. That added energy broadens what the treatment can address—it does not make it the best choice for every patient.
NEEDLING WITHOUT RF HEAT
NEEDLING + CONTROLLED RF HEAT
RF adds an adjustable thermal treatment to collagen-induction needling. This gives the provider another way to target tissue remodeling when firmness is part of the goal. It is a more involved treatment, but evidence does not establish that every RF device consistently outperforms traditional microneedling for every scar or skin concern.
RF treatment requires specialized energy-delivery equipment, single-use needle cartridges, device maintenance and training in both needle depth and energy selection. You are paying for added technology and treatment planning—not a guaranteed larger result. The added investment makes sense when that capability matches your concern.
Think smoother texture, softer-looking scars and lines, and potentially modest firmness improvement—not a facelift or complete scar removal. Both approaches usually require a series, with collagen changes developing over weeks to months. Scar type, skin condition and the treatment plan affect the outcome.
Skin tone alone does not decide the best treatment. Both can cause pigment changes. Active infection or inflamed acne in the area, poor healing, a tendency to form keloids, pregnancy, medications and implanted devices may affect suitability. Significant sagging or deep, tethered scars may need a different approach.
Added energy also means added responsibility. Temporary redness, swelling and discomfort can occur with both treatments. RF microneedling also carries risks of burns and unintended fat loss; scarring, nerve damage and other serious injuries have been reported. We review suitability, realistic benefits and risks before treatment. Read the FDA safety communication.
Studies support benefits from both approaches, but devices, settings and study quality vary. Research across RF devices is not proof of identical results with EXION.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Many patients begin with a series of three, but the right number depends on the concern, its severity and how your skin responds. We will recommend a plan after evaluating you—not before.
Topical numbing is used first. Most patients describe pressure, warmth and brief pinching. Comfort varies by treatment area and intensity, and we check in throughout the appointment.
Expect temporary redness and warmth; mild swelling, pinpoint crusting, dryness or rough texture may follow. Many patients feel comfortable returning to normal activities within a few days, though recovery varies.
Some patients notice early changes in texture, but collagen remodeling is gradual and can continue for weeks to months. Results vary and no outcome can be guaranteed.
RF microneedling can be appropriate across a range of skin tones, but settings, tip selection and post-care matter. We assess your skin and risk factors individually before proceeding.
